Phnom Penh

The largest city and the capital of Cambodia is a Phnom Penh. the streets of this city reflect the 15th century French colonial days. This city is located on the intersection of three rivers – Mekong River, the Bassac River, the Tonle Sap. To know more about Khmer artifacts visit the National Museum and do shopping at Phsar Reatrey, the night market in the city.

Bayon Temple

Bayon Temple is located at the center of the royal city. The main attraction of this temple is the face carved on the top this temple that faces in all the directions. King Jayavarman VII built this temple in the 12th century to expand his capital kingdom, Angkor Thom. The history of this temple is rich and this is one of many reasons that it has attracted many tourists.

Banteay Srei

Banteay Srei is the part of the Angkor Complex but it is located 25km far from the main group of temples. And it was not built by the king. It was built by one of the religious counselors of the king. This temple is fully constructed of red stone and its construction was completed in 967 AD. Banteay Srei depicts the “citadel of women”. Plus the walls of this temple are carved minutely with detailing.

Koh Ker

Koh Ker was once the capital of the Khmer Empire during the period of 928 – 944 AD. And after that, it was a remote location until the opening of the new toll road. The Koh Ker is the beautiful tourist’s spot and it has 3km of the temple complex that has many temples. A stupa-shaped sandstone Neang Khmao Temple on the small is a good option to start with. After that visit Koh Ker temple, the Pram Temple, and the Chen Temple.


Kratie, the small town located on the bank of Mekong River has a view of well preserved colonial French buildings. Tourists are attracted towards this small mainly because of two reasons and that are the beautiful view of the sunset from the river bank and the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins in the action.


The travelers that are interested in Cambodia’s history often visit Battambang. It is also the second most populated city in Cambodia. The countryside and street cafes attract many people. Don’t miss the bamboo train that travels outside the town and its maximum is up to 40 km/hr. The bike ride in the streets of Battambang with the side view of Rice paddies, wine cultivation, streams, etc. makes it worth it.

Bokor Hill Station

Bokor hill station built during the 1920s was abandoned twice in the 1940s and 1970s. The road to Bokor was closed in 2008 because of ongoing construction still there are some local agents who take you there through hiking tours. This hill station has a strange and frightening vibe to it because of dense fog surrounding the area and that attracts the tourists here.

Silver Pagoda

The Silver Pagoda is located in the royal compound of the Phnom Penh and has many majestic statues of Buddha. It has a life-sized idol of Buddha that is decorated of 9584 diamonds, maybe this the reason why it is also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. It has one more name and that is Wat Preah Keo. Get the main focus on the popular Italian marble on the staircase.


The place where the United States fought its last battle of the Vietnam War is named on the former king, Norodom Sihanouk. This place is also known as Kompong Som. Sihanoukville is basically a port city with sandy and rocky beaches. This place is best for relaxation. You can enjoy water sport activities like Snorkelling and Kayaking.
